If you’re like us, you’re pushing it taking anything remotely near a 2-week vacation. But let’s face it, when you’re headed to Southeast Asia, spending 48 hours minimally on flights, you have to push the vacation envelope a bit.
While Krabi certainly wasn’t the only place Mitch and I visited during our stay in SE Asia, Krabi Thailand is first up on our Coronastalgia (named after all of the things we are missing during the Covid-19 pandemic 2020) “Top 3” series of places to go, and things to do.
Be sure check our travel stories out on Instagram for beautiful video and more detail!
Note: we were there in March, and this post is not sponsored in any way.
TOP 3
A Phi Phi Islands private tour
Take a tour all around the Phi Phi islands, privately, inclusive of all the hot spots and a wonderful handmade meal in an intimate setting with Krabi Castaway Tours. Known for its shockingly pristine turquoise water and stunning beaches – the Phi Phi Islands are a tropical paradise. If you are planning on taking a trip, be sure to leave early in the morning to beat the crowds as it gets very busy. This is definitely an 8-hour day, so don’t plan anything else.
Railay Beach Day Trip w/ your friends
This was definitely one of those destiny trips. One of my really dear friends happened to be traveling to Thailand almost the same dates as Mitch and I for a wedding, and we were able to meet up with her and her friends for an amazing day excursion to Railay Beach. It’s so nice and relaxing. You can walk up a short pathway and get lunch, while also getting an hour long+ massage for $20 right on the beach in the shade. Simply hop down to Ao Nang beach and catch one of the many long-tail boats. You only need 2-4 hours for this excursion. The amount of time you spend is entirely up to you.
Krabi Town Trekking
Ah Krabi town. It really is the perfect beach town. With just amount of charm from locals, and a bit of hustle and bustle, you’ll ask yourself no less than twice, if here is where you should retire. Be sure to drop into Jenna’s Bristo & Wine as and Carnivore Steak & Grill. Apologies limited pics here due to Mitch and I just wanting to enjoy one another. But you trust us though, don’t you? ?
Where did you guys stay?!
Mitch and I stayed at Peace Laguna Resort. We would score them about 3.9/5. It’s a four-star hotel, but if I could do it again, I would look at 5-star hotels. It is worth the price, as we paid about $600 USD for 4 days/3 nights. Yes, this is a little higher than the stories you’ve most likely heard about Thailand and SE Asia, but that ain’t the type of trip we taking in our 30s. If there is a problem, staff is pretty prompt in taking care of your concerns. The breakfast was wonderful and free. Room service was excellent, and Mitch booked me a 4-hour spa retreat that truly lifted my spirits.
Note: Please be advised that this is SE Asia, so bugs are the inevitable no matter where you are. If you know me, you know I mean it when I say that I was just fine.
