Welcome

Hello Friends

Home - Family - Whimsy

Welcome to itsbellmade—a safer space for sharing, for collaboration, and for being. itsbellmade is a passion project. It’s a collection of short stories, a manifesto, and a memoir—at once. For most of my life, I felt like I was on the outside looking in. I was too loud, too big, too open. A wildcard. Now I know, these are all attributes to be fully and graciously embraced. We all have a story to share. Stories that are worthy of being shared. Stories that will tell the world and universe “we were here, and we LIVED.”

"itsbellmade" because “Bell” is my married name. It will be the name that our children carry, if that is in the cards. When you think of itsbellmade, think of both an individual and a unit. Think of familiarity. Think of the stories we tell, and the stories we live.

My goal is to leave as many footprints on this earth as I possibly can. To share stories of love and trials. To inspire through pictures, lived experiences, courage, and hope. To show honesty and vulnerability in a manner that is funny, sometimes frightening, but mostly captivating.

Here is where you find transparency, patience, kindness, and just a bit of chaos.

Love & Marriage

We intend to live life, Not just to exist.

The Fluffiest French Toast

Nothing worse than the moment you realize that store bought Texas toast bread isn't the best bread for French toast. Last year, I used it to make what I hoped would turn out to be fluffy French toast, but instead I had a dry mess. Apologies if you like it with bread aisle Texas toast, but deep ... READ the POST

Building Community as an Adult

For many of us, making new friends as an adult is no small feat. I would categorize "adult" as ages 28 and up. There are either issues with logistics, or it's timing, and let's face it -- some of us are just awkward (raises hand). As I've gotten older, I've tried to stop looking at it as "making ...
