The sun has finally decided to cooperate, and after weeks of cold, rain, and more cold—I couldn’t be more excited to start prepping our backyard and porch again. You know I love bringing y’all along for the ride!

I’ve been stalking FB Marketplace like a hawk and scored a beautiful iron patio set within budget. We are not the “drop thousands on outdoor furniture” household over here…secondhand is our bestie!

Here are 3 quick tips for creating an outdoor space you love (without breaking the bank):

1. Start your garden beds early. A little work upfront means years of easy maintenance.

2. Shop secondhand. Not only is it budget-friendly, but the quality is often so much better than today’s fast-furniture.

3. Actually enjoy your space. I make a yearly promise to sit outside more, soak up the sun, and be present.

Longing for the days where there’s more of this

Longing for the days where there’s more of this in my life…

I’m thankful to have a career but corporate is soul-sucking. I’m not sure I was ever meant to play this game, but corporate life is part of the cards I was dealt. On top of that, I’m basically a unicorn so the pressure feels … heavy.

Mitch and I are headed to the flower nursery (again), so that I can pick up some ferns for our back porch (along with some more hanging plants, but shhhhh don’t tell him that). It’s those moments that I look forward to the most, and I wish there were more of them. Less stressing about appearances, presenting, & numbers.

I feel like I’m being constantly reminded that all we have is time. The rest is just cosmetics.
